  • The ideals and principles of Green Chemistry are increasingly being incorporated into academic and industrial synthetic chemistry and formulation science laboratories. There is a crucial need in industry to think about such criteria early in the process, including during the discovery phase, to alleviate issues further down the development pipeline. Tools such as E-Notebook provide a unique opportunity to present discovery chemists with relevant Green Chemistry information. This will allow them to make more informed decisions during their reaction planning process and more readily incorporate Green Chemistry ideals into their work.

    The ACS Green Chemistry Institute Pharmaceutical Roundtable has recently published a series of ideal changes that an E-Notebook should incorporate to capture and present Green Chemistry metrics. Some of these requirements can be met with simple configuration changes as outlined below.
