In a previous post we noted the increasing importance of biologics as therapeutic agents, with 37% of the drugs approved by the FDA in 2017 being biologic entities. A recent article in Chemical & ...
Nucleotide and peptide sequences can be drawn, stored, and searched in ChemBioDraw's Sequence Tool and related databases, for natural sequences and for numerous types of synthetic modifications. This paper defines the currently available tools for biopolymers, which are discussed under the following topics:
ChemBioDraw's oligonucleotides and oligopeptides (and all biopolymers) are of unlimited length, and always include atom-by-atom underlying chemical structures. The structures can be displayed ("expanded"), or kept in "collapsed" as monomer abbreviations. In either case, ChemBioDraw can perform chemical analysis (atom count, Molecular Weight calculation, etc.), and the structures can be stored in ChemBioFinder or other ChemBioDraw-associated databases. ChemBioDraw has several methods for representing .....
